Not too much to update on, it's been fairly quiet in the Baker household which is a nice change:)
Hayden is doing great, he's packing on the pounds and is now a full on chubby baby. So cute! Hudson is loving the nice weather (when it's not raining) and is loving playing with the garden hose. He fills his dump trucks and buckets and pours it out and starts all over. We enrolled him in a summer program in our town as well. Every morning for an hour there's activities and crafts etc for kids in his age group. I think he'll love it and it'll help break up our day.
C25K is going great too! I've only done 2 days but between the rain we've been getting and some days being too worn out to even think of running I think it's pretty good. I've also managed to convince D to do it with me! We take the kids in a stroller and go. So much fun.
Off to enjoy a lazy, rainy Sunday!

Master of Charades
Hudson is still not really talking. He's 20 months now and still only says a handful of words. He can say dada, mom, uh-oh, dog, up, yeah, ball, and maybe a couple others I'm forgetting. We work with him trying to teach him to speak but no go. Instead he is creative in finding other ways to communicate.
Recently he's adopted the art of charades. When he wants something he'll point to me, then point at where the object is, and then point again to where he wants it. Yesterday, he pointed at his toothbrush and then moved his finger up and down in his mouth. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what he wants but instead of just pointing and grunting at the toothbrush, he now shows me what he wants to do with it. And today, he pinched his hand on his truck. He was crying and I asked him to show me where it hurt (to kiss it better) and he held out his hand and pinched his palm just like the truck did.
I'm not sure how we can get the whole speech thing going but I'm worried that now he's learnt how to express himself even clearer, it'll delay the development of his speech. Good thing he's on the waiting list to see a speech pathologist?
Hayden is doing great! I've found that if we stuff him full of milk between 8-9pm and put him down at 9, he'll usually end up sleeping 7-8 hours. If not (and he falls asleep before we can stuff him) then he'll sleep around 5 hours and wake up to eat and then sleep another 2-3 hours. He's doing great for 7 weeks old!

C25Wha???
Anyone that knows me in real life knows that physical fitness isn't really my 'thing'. I'm not into sports (unless watching them occasionally counts) and I would have more motivation to go get a root canal than go to the gym most days. I mean, I wouldn't consider myself lazy but just not actively pursuing an active lifestyle.
So now that I'm carrying an extra load around that is my post-2-babies weight, where does that leave me? I mean I'd love for my body to return to it's past self but how do I get there knowing full well that my daily routine will have to include exercise?
Right now, the kidlets and I go for at least a half an hour walk every day (unless it's raining). Most days it's over an hour. I also have acquired a bike trailer from a garage sale a couple weekends ago so Hudson and I go out a few nights a week.
But I know it's going to take more than that.
I need something that I can do with or without a kid and something that's flexible with my sporadic schedule. An every Wednesday at 7pm fitness class just doesn't work for me.
So that's where C25K comes in. It's flexible, its not in a group setting so there's no chance of embarrassing myself, and it seems quite popular in the blogosphere. So why not?
Wish me luck!!

A math equation
1 sunny day spent playing outside with lots of fresh air
+ 1 disposable diaper worn overnight to maintain dryness
+ 1 miracle blanket to ensure a tight swaddle and no waving arms
+ 1 empty humidifier running for white noise
+ 1 stuffed belly full of formula
= 1 40 day old baby (5.5 weeks) who slept SEVEN straight hours last night!!!! AND 1 very happy momma!

Update
I feel like it's been a long time since I last updated with what's been going on in what I now refer to the crazy house. Needless to say things have been crazy.
Hayden is doing well with his schedule. He goes to bed around 10pm and sleeps between 4-5.5 hours now, eats and then sleeps for another 3-4 hours. I think that's pretty good for only being 5 1/2 weeks old. He's got his 6 week check up tomorrow and I'm curious to see what our little porkchop (I say that affectionately of course) weighs. Yesterday was a rough day for him (and therefore me) as he was super grumpy and nothing seemed to calm him down for a substantial amount of time. I'm hoping today goes much better as he's usually a happy camper.
Hudson is in love with soccer. He loves kicking a ball (any ball) around the yard and when we went for a bike ride the other day to the park, all he wanted to do was watch the kids in the park play soccer (and of course run on the field and join them). I also have been making him walk to the store or the park when before I used to pull him in the wagon. Even though it takes us 4x the time to get somewhere, he loves it.
Other than the kids, we're starting to get ready to build our house! I've been busy getting everything arranged for the bank, the builder, the drafter, etc and hopefully are starting to build in about a month. SO EXCITING!!! Every day that goes by, the more excited I get. I may explode by the time it's finished :)
